A game about death, generosity, and making soup for lost souls

Introduction

Terribly unfortunately, you're dead! And you've been wandering along with a procession of lost souls through the underworld for a very, very long time. Your path takes you through the ruins of a temple, where you find a stranger willing to offer you the an unexpected kindness: a bowl of soup. The stranger offers to leave you in charge of the temple's soup-pot, giving out warm meals to weary spirits, and you agree. It's a perfectly normal thing to do. It's not like you're trying to put off reaching the judgement that awaits you at the end of the procession...

Controls

  • Use WASD (or arrow keys) to get around. (You can float through objects if you like -- after all, you're dead!)
  • Use 'E' to interact with objects.
  • Use 'Space' or 'Enter' (or press the arrow) to advance cutscenes

Good luck, and have fun!

This game was made in about 30 hours for the thatgamecompany x COREBLAZER game jam which had a theme of 'Generosity'. Unfortunately, due to other conflicts, only this weekend was actually available to even begin working on the game, but we had a good go of it! We cut like mad and luckily the end result is still actually playable. Looking forward to seeing everyone else's submissions.

Special thanks to Anomalocaris for being a good sport about getting turned into soup in the underworld a lot. In fairness, where else do you think extinct species of fish go?
